Ingredients

  • 1 cup walnuts (soaked for 4 hours or overnight)

  • 2 cups water

  • 1/2 cup sugar (adjust to taste)

  • 1 cup milk (or almond milk for dairy-free option)

  • 1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger (optional)

  • Extra walnut pieces or dried red dates for garnish

Instructions

  • Soak walnuts in water for at least 4 hours or overnight. Drain and rinse.

  • Blend soaked walnuts with 1/4 cup of water until smooth and creamy.

  • In a pot, combine the walnut paste and 2 cups of water. Stir well.

  • Bring the mixture to a gentle boil over medium heat, stirring occasionally.

  • Add sugar and stir until completely dissolved.

  • Lower the heat and simmer for 10–15 minutes, stirring occasionally. Adjust the thickness by adding water or milk if needed.

  • Add the milk and simmer for another 5–10 minutes until the soup turns creamy and rich.

  • (Optional) Stir in grated ginger for a subtle spicy flavor.

  • Taste and adjust sweetness or consistency as needed.

 

  • Serve warm, garnished with extra walnuts or dried red dates.

Notes

  • Rock sugar can replace white sugar for a more traditional flavor.

  • Adjust the consistency by adding more water or milk based on preference.

  • Almond milk or coconut milk are great dairy-free substitutes.

  • For a chilled version, refrigerate and serve cold.
