Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce

  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch

  • 1 teaspoon black pepper

  • 1 tablespoon oil (canola or peanut)

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 red bell pepper, sliced

  • 1 green bell pepper, sliced

  • 1 small onion, sliced

  • 1/4 cup beef broth

  • Optional: 1 tsp oyster sauce

  • Optional: 1 tsp brown sugar

Instructions

  • In a bowl, combine sliced steak, soy sauce, cornstarch, and black pepper. Marinate for 15 minutes.

  • Heat oil in a large skillet or wok over high heat.

  • Add beef in batches. Sear 1–2 minutes per side. Remove and set aside.

  • Add garlic to pan and stir for 30 seconds.

  • Toss in bell peppers and onion. Cook for 2–3 minutes until crisp-tender.

  • Return beef to pan. Add beef broth and optional sauce ingredients.

  • Simmer for 2 minutes, stirring constantly, until sauce thickens.

  • Serve hot over rice or noodles.
